Google Maps is expanding its fuel-efficient routing feature to India and Indonesia to help people travel more sustainably. This feature uses AI to suggest routes with fewer hills, less traffic, and constant speeds, resulting in lower CO2e emissions. Additionally, Google Search will soon include train route suggestions when searching for flights, and in France, Maps will show public transit or walking options alongside driving directions if they are practical alternatives.
