Google has announced a new generation language model, PaLM 2, which is faster and more efficient than previous models and comes in a variety of sizes for easy deployment. PaLM 2 powers more than 25 products and has been fine-tuned for medical knowledge to help answer questions and summarize insights from medical texts. Google is also working on Gemini, a model that has multimodal capabilities and is highly efficient in integrating with tools and APIs. Bard, Google’s experiment that enables collaboration with AI is expanding its access and will soon include code citations and respond with images. In the future, Google plans to integrate Bard with popular apps like Adobe, Instacart, and Khan Academy.
