Google is introducing new safeguards and restrictions to ensure responsible use of AI-generated images. The images will have metadata labeling and watermarks indicating they were created by AI. Additionally, a tool called “About this image” will provide context and credibility information for images. In addition to image generation, Google is also introducing a feature called written drafts in SGE, which allows users to generate written content for research purposes. These drafts can be exported to Google Docs or Gmail, with privacy protections in place. These new capabilities are rolling out to users who have opted into the SGE experiment in the United States.
