23 new products Google launched in 2023

In 2023, Google rolled out several new products and updates across their Pixel, Chromebook, wearable, health tracking, and mapping device lines. The Pixel family expanded to include a new tablet and Pixel Buds Pro, while the Chromebook Plus was introduced as a powerful, AI-driven laptop. Wearables were improved with the launch of the Google Pixel Watch 2 and the Fitbit Charge 6, both featuring enhanced health tracking capabilities. Google also introduced new health tracking tools such as fall detection and oxygen saturation tracking.

Extreme heat alerts and flood forecasting were added to the Google Maps platform, along with new features for exploring national parks and fuel-efficient routing. AI editing tools were launched for photos, including the Magic Editor and Best Take for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Additionally, RCS messaging in Google Messages hit 1 billion users, and new features such as end-to-end encryption and Voice Moods were added.

Google Workspace saw several launches, including the expansion of AI-powered Smart Compose to Google Chat and a meeting scheduler in Gmail. Duet AI, an AI-powered collaborator, was made generally available across various Workspace tools, and was also expanded to Google Cloud.

Google also introduced passkeys for enhanced security, allowing users to sign into accounts using biometric or pin authentication instead of passwords. Additionally, a new AI-powered tool was introduced for virtual clothing try-ons, and YouTube announced new AI features for creators and artists.

Labs, a home for Google’s experimental AI tools and technologies, was launched, allowing users to test out projects across various Google products. Chrome also received a new look for the Web Store and address bar updates, along with new features to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

New and updated tools were launched to help users fact check information online, including Fact Check Explorer and Search’s “About this image” feature. Google also expanded Multisearch, introduced SGE, added more languages to Google Translate, and enhanced insights on Google Flights and Google Trends.
