Google is testing a new feature called “highly rated” for Local Services Ads (LSA). When users search for a local business, Google may display a sponsored box featuring LSAs with top reviews in specific verticals. These ads include a thumbnail image, reviews, opening hours, service duration, local service areas, and a call button for easy contact. Being recommended as “highly rated” by Google could boost consumer trust, leading to increased conversions, brand awareness, and reputation for businesses.
The new feature was first spotted by Anthony Higman, CEO of online advertising agency Adsquire. Google has confirmed that it is currently an experiment, and depending on its performance, the feature may be extended to all advertisers in the future or discontinued.
