News Showcase is launching in Mexico

Google has announced plans to expand its News Showcase feature, which aims to provide users with more curated news stories while giving publishers more control over the content that is presented. El Universal, one of Mexico’s largest daily newspapers, has praised the innovation and welcomed the opportunity to provide truthful and quality information to its readers. The product is now live in 20 countries and the company has signed deals with more than 2,000 publications globally. In Latin America, News Showcase is already available in Colombia, Argentina and Brazil, with over 190 agreements signed and nearly 280 publications included. The initiative will allow publishers to deepen their relationships with readers and give them more direct control of branding and presentation. News Showcase panels will start appearing on Google News on iOS and Android, and in Discover on iOS and Android.
