TAG Bulletin: Q4 2023

In Q4 2023, several coordinated influence operation campaigns were terminated on various platforms. In October, 8 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing content in Hindi and Arabic with anti-Israel narratives, while 14 others were terminated for sharing content supportive of the government of Iran. Additionally, 355 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing content in Russian supportive of Russia and critical of Ukraine and the West. In November, 13 YouTube channels and 1 Blogger blog were terminated for sharing critical content of Ukraine and the West in English, and 6 YouTube channels and 1 Ads account were terminated for sharing content supportive of Russia in multiple languages. 57 YouTube channels were also terminated for sharing content supportive of Azerbaijani interests in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and critical of Russia and Armenia. Furthermore, 41 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing content supportive of Russia and critical of the West in the Donbass region, and 90 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing content supportive of Azerbaijan and critical of Armenia and critics of the Azerbaijani government. Additionally, 21 YouTube channels and 8 AdSense Accounts were disabled for sharing political content in Ethiopia, and 40 YouTube channels and 1 domain were blocked from sharing Sudanese news and politics. Finally, in December, 317 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing content in Turkish supportive of a Turkish political party, and 3,785 YouTube channels were terminated for sharing spammy content in Chinese about music, entertainment and lifestyle, as well as content about China and U.S. foreign affairs. All of these findings were consistent with previous reports.
