Google Machine Learning Bootcamp is a three-month intensive machine learning (ML) training program for students and developers, launched by Google in Korea in 2020 to make ML more accessible. The program aims to connect participants with local IT companies to find employment opportunities with their newly acquired knowledge. The program has been expanded to seven high-growth countries and regions including Europe, India, LATAM, Africa, Turkey, Japan, and Korea. In the most recent program, over 36,000 applications were received from around the world, and 1,600 finalists were selected. The program was virtual, offering a flexible learning experience for participants from across the globe, allowing them to join regardless of their location or schedules. During the bootcamp, participants studied ML theory and TensorFlow through Coursera’s Deep Learning Specialization, and they practiced their skills through Kaggle competitions and earned TensorFlow certificate or Google Cloud ML Engineer certification.
