Project Rhythm Productions
My own engagement-focused advertising studio for the performing arts: brand, print campaigns, and websites for Chicago dance productions.
Before the marketing systems and the search work, there was Project Rhythm Productions: my own studio, built to sell an art form that lives or dies on getting people into seats.
Engagement-focused advertising for the performing arts. I made the brand, the campaigns, and the sites, then placed the ads that filled the house.
The work
- Brand; one moody image carried the identity, a dancer in silhouette lit red under a quiet wordmark. Restraint, because dance is already dramatic.
- Campaigns; “Duets for My Valentine,” a Valentine’s dance concert, ran across newspaper, magazine, billboard, and web, timed to a single night.
- Web; sites for the shows and for Chicago Dance Movement, a competitive dance event, built to register and to sell.
Why it still matters
This was the first version of the work I have done ever since: understand an audience, build the system that reaches them, and judge it only by whether they showed up. The product changed from a dance concert to a SaaS pipeline to AI search visibility; the question never did.
Every performance is a deadline. You do not get a SECOND opening night, so the advertising has to work the first time.
